Cuban news: Old man knackers May parade...

Or he tried....

A Mercenary and Dangerous Old Man
By Leonel Alberto Pérez Belette
Havana (May 2008 – Cubanet) Members of the political police harassed an 80 year old opponent in his own home to prevent him from blemishing the festivities of the first of May.
Alfredo Guilleuma Rodriguez has become a "danger" for the authorities of the state. So much so that the State decided to place to two police officers and a member of the Committee of Defense of the Revolution (CDR) on his doorstep with the objective to stop him from leaving his dwelling on May Day.

Property for sale Cuba: 638 Ways to Kill Castro

Heres an intersting tale:
Do you think this title sounds ludicrous? Oh, probably it does but it only sounds…
Yesterday (26th July) was one of the most important national holidays in Cuba (maybe even the most important). However if you follow US press you’d ask yourself “Why on Earth they celebrate that day??? They should erase it from their nation’s memory!” and that would be quite reasonable question when you see this title: July 26th Marks Anniversary Of Castro’s Failure, Cuban RevolutionIsn’t that tremendously malicious when you know how that “failure” has raised national spirit to struggle against the regime, when you know that was the dawn of Revolution? (truth maybe I founded isolated article but still)

Cuban holidays: Cuban life

I'll see Cuba for myself
I have often wondered what a holiday on Cuba might be like. One hears so many stories about poverty, repression and on the other hand, happy people, well fed, plenty of good housing and healthcare. I would like to see for myself I think.

heres an interesting tale:

"Back in the days before the US embargo, holidays in Cuba used to be all the rage. My grandfather used to go on and on about Cuba holidays. Although I enjoyed his stories, back when I was a kid I always assumed that he was exaggerating for effect. He would tell me about meeting kings of business and European royalty, movie stars and mobsters, all there to have a great time on an island paradise. One of his last regrets was that he did not get to go on another Cuba holiday before he died. Although things have changed a lot over there, my grandpa would be happy today if he knew that his grandson had made a trip over to that beautiful island."

Property for sale Cuba: Asta la victoria Siempre!!

Fulgencio Batista

On January 1, 1959, following the abdication of power by Fulgencio Batista, Fidel Castro entered Havana as the revolutionary leader of the Republic of Cuba. The new year marked the end of the popular uprising against Batista that had begun on March 10, 1952, when Batista executed a military coup d’etat and suspended constitutional guarantees. The declared purpose of Batista’s opponents was to restore the 1940 Constitution.
1 This objective became the unifying banner under which Cubans fought and ultimately forced out Batista. The victory over Batista inspired hope that the Republic of Cuba would once again be governed by a constitution that expressed the will of the people. Unfortunately, history bears witness to the fact that Castro and his ministers betrayed the public trust.
Within days of seizing power, Castro began the process of illegally amending the Cuban Constitution.
The illegal amendments to the Cuban Constitution were part of a scheme orchestrated by the Castro revolutionary government to illegally confiscate and expropriate assets belonging to Cuban nationals and
1. International Commission of Jurists, Cuba and the Rule of Law (Geneva 1962), p.78.
foreign companies and individuals. These confiscated properties, worth billions of dollars, ranged from sugar mills and petroleum refineries to small businesses and private residences.
Castro’s rule has lasted for more than thirty-five years and one can only speculate as to when his regime will end. Nevertheless, as with the former communist bloc countries of Eastern Europe, Castro’s regime will come to an end. On that day, the Cuban people will have to grapple with important constitutional and legal issues arising from the Castro regime’s illegal confiscation of private property. The purpose of this paper is to highlight the private property rights
guaranteed in the 1940 Constitution and highlight the illegality of the Castro regime’s confiscations.
The violation of the constitutionally guaranteed private property rights will need to be addressed in a post-Castro Cuba.

Cuban Folk Song: Guantanamera

I was asked for the lyrics to that great Cuban Folk song "Guantanamera" Here they are:
Guantanamera Guajira Guantanamera Guantanamera Guajira Guantanamera
Guantanamera ....

Property for sale in Cuba: Cuban news

Cuban dictator Fidel Castro

Male Silverback Gorilla

I read tjhis little item on http://www.cubanet.org/
Reflections on Fidel Castro
Tania Diaz Castro HAVANA, Cuba, April, (http://www.cubanet.org/) - In 1959, after traveling triumphantly through the island dressed like a guerrilla, bearded, with a rosary around his neck, Fidel Castro was seen by many as the new Messiah.
I misread "dressed like a Guerilla" for "Dressed like a Gorilla" and wondered if it was a fancy dress parade. What a tit!!!!

PROPERTY FOR SALE CUBA - AFTER FIDEL CASTRO

Property for sale Cuba? What sort of a daft title is that, you may well ask? Well, Fidel Castro has resigned, leaving Cuba in the hands of his brother, Raul, who, let's face it, will not last too long once the big lad has snuffed it. Then? Here's my thoughts on post Castro Cuba.

Castro has snubbed the yanks for almost 50 years and has now retired. Nobody in their right minds could think that the communists can last much longer, after all, Cuba's main ally, Russia, has long since done away with the one party system (ahem!)

When the great day comes and the world and his wife will all want a part of Cuba for themselves and so, with that in mind, I have created http://www.propertyforsalecuba.com/ a website devoted to Property for sale in Cuba, Holidays in Cuba, Hotels Cuba, Holiday villas Cuba, Real estate agents Cuba and all services, flights, car hire in Cuba

People from all over the world will look to buy houses in Cuba for holiday villas, rentals, winter holidays and of course they are going to need services such as, flights to Cuba, Taxi, car hire, cleaners, builders and anything else you could possibly think of.
